I built custom acoustic panels for little money to reduce the echo in my office in Portugal. It’s a 40€ IKEA Gersby shelf with 75€ of fabric insulation panels and a 12.5€ IKEA curtain as cover. With 20-24cm of acoustic insulation they reduce echo by **a lot**. They are also mobile which is nice.

Nice! Never occurred to me that acoustic panels didn’t have to be on the walls. I suspect you much more benefit for a given size if you can position them closer to mic than if they were across the room

All you need is one Gersby shelf (40€), 3 fabric insulation panels of 2x1m with 40mm thickness (3x30€), a thick-ish curtain (25€ for a pack of 2) (doesn’t need to black out the light), a staple gun with 10mm staples, and optionally some rope and loop head screws. Takes ~1h and ~140€ per panel
