The section describing IRB membership requirements now has the word ‘gender’ changed to ‘sex’, which no longer matches the regulation. PRIM&R is concerned that current federal activities, such as this, have the potential to dramatically impact sound scientific design and ethical research. IRB membership requirements exist to ensure equitable review and deliberation of the risks and benefits to human participants. PRIM&R remains steadfastly committed to the fulfillment of our mission and unwavering in our aspiration to foster fair and ethical review of research. PRIM&R will continue to advocate to keep science a nonpartisan research endeavor.
