Lead author Daniel Broudy, PhD, is a Professor of Applied Linguistics at Okinawa Christian University, not a molecular biologist. One of the co-authors is a gynecologist. I suspect this paper is more about studying the dissemination of propaganda or cognitive bias reinforcement on social media.
