It is being used in a hedge already in countries with high inflation. And has outperformed inflation even in the US. But still early in it's growth cycle.

You could easily make the same chart for tulip bulb prices in the Dutch Republic from 1610 to 1637. It beat inflation until it very much didn't. But you can't just argue, "this can't be a speculative bubble, look at the price go up!" Because that's what speculative bubbles do. Until they don't.
