#OTD in 1966, Air India Flight 101, a Boeing 707 (VT-DMN), crashed into Mont Blanc while approaching Geneva, killing all 117 onboard. ATC cleared descent after Mont Blanc, but the captain descended too early, believing they had passed the 15,781-ft peak. The plane struck 200ft below its peak.
