I also commute around 4h per week I like to catch up with writing and reading during this time, I love it tbh.
I haven’t master coding while driving yet 😀 I wish there’s better public transportation system here in Indianapolis…
A lot of blueview.app is written during my commute in the mornings. Its a really good time to get some focus in. When im not commuting its late nights after everyone has gone to bed.

I remember when I used to commute 2 hrs per DAY. It was the time I used to learn a lot listening to podcasts. Tried a lot to bring this into routine while working from home, no success yet 😅
Working during flights is my guilty pleasure. Finishing a feature with almost no distraction and nothing else to do. Perfect.
4h per week? or per day? I suppos you're on site only a few days per week? Let's say you have to take the train for 1-2h to go to your workplace? I'm just getting curious :D I find it genius to work while on commute, I love it as well during long travel only!
Oh yes, working on the train is great with noise cancelling headphones 😏

Not on commute and not a side builder, but I travel by train to my boyfriend every couple of weeks. It's a 2,5 hour trip and the first thing I do after boarding the train is getting my laptop out and work.
I used to commute during my university studies ~3 hours/day. Good for studying and reading BUT very exhausting Now, working remotely, have more energy and projects done.
Public transport or flying is very productive time for me if I have space for my laptop. Usually I work on Blog Recorder on my commute blogrecorder.com
I miss riding trains as commute. I did a lot of good work on long train rides in Europe when I was there visiting last year.
Obviously you can't be in London otherwise how would you get a seat?!

Yeah, the forced time boxing taught me /a lot/ about focusing on how to ship quickly. I used to use the 10h a week commuting to ship a new project every 2-4 weeks - but I’ve been WFH for years now. Planes are amazing for that too, given the extended time periods - but require more preparation
My regular commute is 20 minutes by car but I do travel a lot. I realized about a year ago that most of my productive time comes when I’m in between two points so yeah! I keep a voice list for “things I need to do” when I get to work, but man on planes is when the ✨coding ✨gets done.
Yea, my commute once was about two hours each day. It helped me to learn JavaScript basics 🙃

Not a commute, but I have several 1-3 hours slots within my week where I’m hanging around whilst the kids are playing or are at a class. I often sit anywhere that I can find with my laptop to work.
True! I have a 3.5 h commute every month. Totally locked in without any distractions. Only problem is the internet connection every now and then.

Oh yes, coding on the train is the best. There's no better use for the time, internet access is limited to just the right amount and somehow the atmosphere allows me to focus very well. I once did a whole project just on my daily commute.
I miss commute tbh. Train commute to be specific. Used to read a lot. I can't make myself read at home. Some magic is definitely happening during train commute.
