Why do nonvegans sometimes tell me that I should consider "all sides" of the discussion surrounding veganism? Newsflash: most vegans weren't born vegan. We KNOW what the "other side" is. We've been there. We changed BECAUSE we considered all sides, and chose the side of justice.

Sorry to break the news but animals have many, many predators- humans are on that list. Farming is an evolution thought up by hunters who thought "there's an easier way to do this". It's ok for you to have alternative/ anthropomorphic values but they aren't for everyone.

People often ask me if it is difficult to be vegan. I always reply that it is. But it's not giving up animal products that is difficult. Being vegan means that you live among the people who endorse the cause you are fighting against. The most difficult part is that you can't force people to care.

Animal rights philosophy is rooted in respecting others, human or nonhuman. This doesnt mean we believe we're the same as other animals, it means that we acknowledge our differences, but we see that they're morally irrelevant differences. Veganism is inherently anti discrimination.
