You don’t need to be a “secret Nazi” these days to advance in GOP politics. It’s not like the Dem brand is so great you have to fake not being a Nazi to win a nomination

Anyone that would ever vote for any Republican ever under any circumstance is seriously stupid. The Republican party is pure evil and always has been.
Strange how suddenly a lot of right wing democrats see senate seats as disposable, and not a rare commodity for which every compromise must be made...
I have a short term memory so I recall @cripdyke.bsky.social and @parkermolloy.com among others criticized by mainstream Dems for suggesting they would not support Gavin Newsom bc of specific anti-trans policies he held. These Dems pointed out that any Republican would be worse.

May I remind everyone that Platner has been calling what Israel has been doing to the Palestinians a genocide since at least the early 2000s.

Are they basing the whole “he’s a Nazi” thing on his Deaths Head tattoo? Because if that’s it then this is weak sauce and no wonder Maine Democrats seem to be unmoved by this. Those “edgy” tattoos may be stupid but it’s a real stretch to think that they mean you agree with Nazism.

Arthur Jones, head of the Illinois chapter of the American Nazi Party, didn't run as a Nazi either. He just ran with a section on his campaign website about how the Holocaust was a myth. And more than one in four people voted for him.
I ultimately think he's going to Special Little Boy. I have been toying with Fetterchinema Syndrome.... though Fetterman may deserve to be excised and attributed more to his stroke than the other two
This is exhausting. I think Platner is problematic, but he is much more aligned with progressive Dem priorities than Collins will ever be. Collins has voted with Trump almost every time! In November the choice will be someone totally with Trump vs someone mostly with Dems. It seems easy to choose!
“Blue no matter who” includes noxious assholes like Platner who nevertheless will be better than a Republican like Susan Collins. I think we can give people space to come to terms with Platner and hope he does his part to build trust, but we are far better off with that seat than without it.
