Two beaker side-by-side left beaker has gravel in it right beaker just has water. Both beakers begin with the same waterline. Ice cube is inserted in to both. Time lap shows ice cube, melting speaker with gravel shows significant water level rise. Beaker with water shows no water level rise due to the water already being displaced by the ice cube.
