Tucked within a dense green foliage hangs half a dozen baby green peppers, growing out from within the petals of pale white flowers that they're now shedding. One pepper, in particular, is being held up for display by my hand.
Stuff that causes boot-loops: 1. The OS isn't corrupted, but something is preventing it from working — maybe a dumb or malicious 3rd-party app. 2. Something in the OS has corrupted; can happen as part of a faulty update, or an indicator of something more malicious. 3. Faulty internal components causing wild behaviour. To find out which, I'd come at it like: #1 — If you catch it boot-looping then, instead of a factory reset, boot into safe mode (it's device-specific, so you'll need to look-up how to do it for your phone); if you get past the loop in safe mode then there's something operating in non-safe mode that's fucking with the boot process — start uninstalling things in order of most-recent first and see what works. If you really like your phone and can't solve this by yourself then this might be the time to find a phone shop that has some cybersecurity knowhow? #2 — Factory reset (you've already done), disable automatic system updates, find the latest update for your device online and install it manually; if that causes the boot-loop then keep installing older-and-older releases until you find one that doesn't. Alternatively you can try a different Android OS; after doing some research, GrapheneOS seems like the best out there as it fully de-Google's your phone — LineageOS is also an option, though Google still has some of its hooks dug-in there. #3 — This could be water damage or it could be overheating (though the latter could be an indicator of #1, too), or it could even be a loose bit of solder; if #1 and #2 don't fix this then it's probably #3, and you'd need to open it up to get to the bottom of it. I'm out of my depth here, though, and you'd probably need to take it into a phone shop...
