William Powell's Warners pre-Codes are always so interesting, always in stark contrast to his time at MGM. He's still charming and witty, but less debonair and more of a sly, quick-witted horndog.

The first half is much funnier and more interesting than the second, which treads very conventional territory, plot-wise.
