We then enter the room which is a modern space flooded with natural light. There’s a large TV with the yellow and black product assembly branding showing via a PowerPoint presentation. There are lots of small square wooden stools covered in felt that serve as the small auditorium’s seating. We then see the room populated with 17 adults who are animated in discussion.
An audience member’s perspective of Lola Odelola’s talk on using more poetic language in Alt text for screen readers. The view shows a plush cinema surrounded by darkness except for the large cinema screen projecting Lola’s slides. The seating is velvet and adds to the richness of the darkness in the room. Her slide shows this text: Ekphrastic Poetry as Alt-Text Ekphrasis or ecphrasis (from the Greek) is a rhetorical device indicating the written description of a work of art. It is a vivid, often dramatic, verbal description of a visual work of art, either real or imagined. The room is silent and still with interest in what she has to say.
