The Government of Canada directed the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) today to review recent decisions that tripled streaming services’ Canadian content spending obligations from 5% to 15%.

“The CRTC’s spending obligations were way out of line internationally and would have driven up costs for consumers. Minister Miller deserves full credit for supporting Canadian content without raising costs or reducing choice for Canadians,” says @joshtabish.bsky.social
