I always forget how long this lamp’s been in our family and it’s shocking to see first photo is my mother (now 78) in 1947, when it was already about 70 years old the second one just snapped a moment ago

also side note it's very funny that nobody ever settled on a set form for a lamp; it's still easily possible to buy one that looks like what happened when people first started stuffing electrics into unused candlesticks so I guess it makes sense that Papa's family went "idk samovar? lamp!"
