Steely Danā€™s ā€œCountdown to Ecstasyā€ album. A recent reprint on Geffen Records marked down from $37.99 to $19.99. I had the original on ABC Records, but like a LOT of my vinyl, it got sold off at an estate sale I had in 2022. Yes, Iā€™m still quite salty about that.

ā€œSpartacusā€ by Triumvirat. A prog rock album I had long ago, then lost it. The cover shows a clear Edison-based light bulb, the filament glowing, with a white rat inside on top of the filament. Certainly not a safe place for a rat.

They Might Be Giants most recent release, ā€œThe World is to Digā€ on translucent red vinyl. The cover is a lovely landscape with a tall mountain and waterfall spilling into a forested area with pine and deciduous trees. The foreground has some people on horseback, but they are absolutely minuscule, adding credence to the size of the landscape pictured. At the top right is a red-bordered white label with the groupā€™s name and album title, with a drawing of some acorns separating them.
Richard Benjamin as Commander Adam Quark from the short-lived sci-fi spoof "Quark" that appeared in 1977. The picture is of a room on the spaceship, decked out in mostly industrial grey with a few coloured lights on the control panels. The main character is seated at a control deck with two black joysticks, hands outstretched slightly to work a control panel. He's dressed in a silverish jacket showing a circular UGSP patch on the front. He wears a darker blue turtleneck shirt beneath. The show was amusing, but as I said, short-lived, lasting only one season of eight episodes.

A Panasonic RS-760S reel-to-reel tape player/recorder currently playing a home made Boards of Canada mix tape. The supply reel is a 5ā€ large center, with a black, 7ā€ Svema-branded take-up reel. It is the first reel of tape Iā€™m playing on this machine since I got it back from the repair shop this morning.šŸ˜šŸŽ‰šŸ˜ Apparently, this recorder bears a striking resemblance to the one used in ā€œEvil Deadā€ (I donā€™t know if itā€™s a game, TV show, or movie) so itā€™s got that going for it.
A large, nondescript room. The upper half is white, while the lower half is beige (possibly), and carpeted in a green, low-pile wall-to-wall carpet. Four men in dark uniforms (possibly police or military? There is some sort of emblem on their jacket sleeves) reclining in dark leather(?) chaise lounges along one wall. All four men are barefoot. On the adjacent wall, there is a tall, free standing light frame that has a tropical view with a palm tree and beach scene. The only light in this room is coming from that frame, giving the room a blue-ish green cast.
The Foo Fighters debut album. Iā€™m having an issue determining which pressing it is. Factory sealed, no hype stickers whatsoever, black vinyl (feels heavyweight), RCA/Legacy with Roswell Records label, catalogue number ending with the RE1 signifier, no download card inside, and the only dates I can find on it are from 2011. Inner sleeve is a nice paper/plastic one, no lyrics. The Discogs entry for the 2011 release mentions a hype sticker and download card. The Newbury Comics inventory date on their price sticker reads February 16, 2026. Is this a new pressing spotted in the wild?

A comment in a YouTube video where someone wrote "Namakuriiiiiiiiiiiii" which in Japanese essentially translates into "fresh cream" (the video was a short about canned cakes in Japan with an abundance of whipped cream). YouTube provided an helpful "Translate to English" link below the comment.
Some time in the mid-2000s, we had some heavy snowfall and drifting up my street. This is my 1997 Toyota Camry mostly covered by snow. I had to call out of work that day, as the streets weren't even plowed by the time I was supposed to start work that day. I sent this exact picture to my manager explaining the situation.

I've taken a break from a couple of stories I've been working on this month, and work on a third that has been in the works for a few years now. I've reached a point in the story where a plot point has just occurred, and I'm stuck for a direction that will affect the next plot point... which is why its been on the back burner for a number of years now. I have some choices: Choice 1 will put a main character in a position where their survival is unlikely because of the situation... unless I hand-wave and/or ignore certain parts of said situation... and I really don't want to turn it into another one of THOSE stories any more than it already is... Choice 2 will slow down the movement of the characters, and put them in a position where one cannot help or protect the other, making for a less satisfying (to me) situation... Choice 3 will go against the grain of both characters, and they request that I not consider it... even though it's quite feasible and would certainly be an easy choice to make, and could be the best way to get to the next plot point... but the characters seem to be quite resistant to it. Choice 4 is to remove the next plot point completely, making for a more boring outcome, but will bypass what's been hanging me up for so long and brings me closer to the end... however, the author is a little resistant to doing that... It would seem like giving up on the tale. Choice 5 is to change the next plot point to something different, but it isn't really that do-able mainly because of the world-lore already in place, so that's out. I've really been stuck for a choice that can keep both myself and my characters happy, and move this freakin' story onward. I'm leaning more towards Choice 2 or 3, although Choice 1 isn't completely off the table, I just would rather not, as it would change the whole feel of what i'm after.

He gives a thumbs-up sign signifying everything's OK. I didn't have a very good digital camera at the time, so the picture is a bit dark. Fun fact: I was perpetually confused at the time about the colours "auburn" and "tawny" (as in which colour was which), so the fursuit was a LOT more brown than I wanted it to be. I didn't want Punk to be the usual "orange" tiger, so I was hoping for a more subdued colour. Mission failed, but I was so enamoured by just having a character I created turned real-life that I didn't care.
