Durch die Explosion wurden auch angrenzende Einfamilienhäuser teilweise schwer beschädigt und weitere Personen leicht verletzt, zwei Personen mussten hospitalisiert werden. Das Motiv für die Tat wurde noch ermittelt, hieß es seitens der Polizei. Mehr dazu in wien.ORF.at Das Ausmaß aller Beschädigungen ist noch nicht abschließend bekannt. Im Zuge des Einsatzes wurde der 93-Jährige von Rettungskräften im Keller des völlig zerstörten Hauses gefunden und verletzt gerettet. Aufgrund des vorliegenden Tatverdachts der vorsätzlichen Gemeingefährdung wurde der 93-Jährige über staatsanwaltschaftliche Anordnung festgenommen und wird in einem Krankenhaus bewacht. Die Brandermittler des Landeskriminalamtes Wien haben die Ermittlungen aufgenommen.
