They don't normally have schedules right after a break and Nicholas is a practical reminder of why they shouldn't. His flight back from Taiwan gets delayed and delayed and then cancelled so he's not even in Japan when the rest of the group heads out to a retreat schedule, a bit of variety filming before they ramp up comeback prep. A manager is waiting for him at the airport and the sun is already setting by the time they start the drive out to the rented house. The main group chat is quiet and Nicholas catches up quickly on the drive. Euijoo messages him separately, brief, three words updates about the games they're playing: hide and seek; fill in the blank lyrics. Nicholas isn't sure why Euijoo wants him to know, but in a dark and tucked away corner of his heart he likes that Euijoo is thinking about him.
