Support LGBTQ+ Game Devs and Scholars! The Queerness and Games Collective is a registered not-for-profit organization in Quebec, Canada. We run internationally-recognized events (QGCons) dedicated to LGBTQ+ issues and video games. Since the first QGCon in 2013, we have brought together game developers, scholars, and players who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer. Our presenters share cutting-edge research, reflect on game development, and lead hands-on workshops. After five years of remote events, QGCon 2025 returns to an in-person conference format based in Montreal. In 2025, you can help QGCon create space for LGBTQ gamers, creators, and scholars from North America and beyond. What We Do with Your Support: We help queer gamers, creators, and scholars find and build community. We have received many questions about what QGCon will do to accommodate people who cannot come to Canada in the current geopolitical context. While QGCon has always been livestreamed, we are considering what more we can do to accommodate remote presentations and remote arcade presenters. As the situation continues to evolve, we are watching closely and gathering information about the community’s needs concerning remote conference access. We are investigating workable, practical alternatives and look forward to sharing them with you closer to the conference. In the meantime, we strongly encourage you to apply with your game, project, talk, workshop, or other incredible queer thing, even if you don’t know whether you can make it in person. Please don’t self-select out of QGCon – in the event that coming to Canada is unfeasible, we will work with you to ensure you can meaningfully participate. Despite everything, we look forward to being in community with you!

By queer game, we mean: - Games with LGBTQ+ representation - Games exploring queer themes - Games made by LGBTQ+ creators - Weird games that queer the medium We are most interested in games that fit more than one of these. But when in doubt, apply!"
