A little later, 1271 (from the previous pic), headed a train of four livestock wagons plus a guards van at the platform at Charters Towers station. Note the passenger compartment in the guards van which was sometimes available to drovers on livestock trains. 40 years ago today, July 21 1986 2 of 6
