Sup, it's me again~ First of all, I'm sure anyone that's seen my socials is aware that I've gotten like 5 hours of sleep in the past 3 days so that's gonna show up in my typing so would you kindly cut me some damn slack. Better late than never. It really should not have taken it getting this bad and far too many people got hurt but I'm glad the ship didn't have to fully sink at least. I've said this to multiple people but one of the worst parts of this whole ordeal was knowing that YNO really could and should be something great for the community. And it's not like it was nothing but harm, there were really great things it was doing. As I've said, been here since 2008 and these games mean a lot to me. It was amazing seeing them finally get attention and more people being able to play it. Would be nice to see it actually be the thing it has the potential to be someday. Sure it's probably past the point of redemption for a lot of people but eh, the more that don't have to fully lose it the better. I ain't holding breath and have no intention of ever returning after how I was treated and know how much people hate me [that "as much as i dislike that guy" comment after finding out i was a csa/sa victim and was hospitalized after being attacked recently was fucked up up.], but I hope everyone else who felt like they had lost a community where they were happy and felt accepted are able to get it back. Like not trying to make it about me here, but you have no idea how fucking awful it was looking through tags and seeing so many people getting crushed or depressed because it was the only place they had friends. It fhonest to Baphy felt like I was tearing this away from people and I fucking hated every second of it. Don't know what was worse, that or reading what people had been put through. Yugamineena: On our steps moving forward, and in response to the growth of the community, as well as the need to address conflicting perspectives along with the shortage of capable staff to maintain order, mod applications are open, and we will prioritize those who have experience in managing servers and handling conflicts properly, in order to make sure that our team is more efficient in handling any issues. We will also see to it that they will be trained in the process. We do admit to leaving things the way they were as far as that's concerned, but through having a new mod team, we expect this to be a smoother transition, as I will be stepping down from management soon. In addition, over the course of last few years, we are noticing a marked increase in behavior that can only be described as brigading and targeted harassment inside the community. As this sets a very dangerous precedent, we aim to take definite action against it per our plan to improve our moderation approaches. We will make a transparent process on how we will be handling grievances moving forward. This will cover both mods and regular members alike, to be subject for review and improvement at least once a year. Keep in mind that we are open to feedback and criticism, as long as it is respectful and constructive. Mod team will be here to answer further questions. We understand that you may feel angry or disappointed if what has been addressed doesn’t satisfy you, but please be cordial about it. Regarding YNO itself, it will still continue to be maintained, and new developers will be ready to help.
While it may not be as heavy as hiding a grooming incident, Yuga should get called out for being a shit admin, mistreating members, and letting the servers get so toxic. Know it's probably trivial, but wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people noticed issues but never spoke about it so these could provide a good, "I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT NOTICED THAT." Plus it gives all the more reason he should not be an admin. Thank you again for those willing to share with me, I hope being able to talk about it and finally let people know what you went through was relieving. Plenty of members, self included, noticed that there were a lot of times something should have been addressed yet nothing happened, even while he was there. One member saw another mod using an ableist slur and when another member asked them to stop they doubled down with, "it's just a word why are you offended?" Yuga was present and did nothing. Another member was allowed to be unbanned for a single day and the entire time they were treated horribly by others there. There is literally no reason to set someone up to be humiliated like that. It was just needless cruel and sadistic. Though I do not have any specific accounts, other members have noted that he loves making a spectacle of banning people. Ironically, operating behind closed doors seems to be something he did often. For minor offenses this is understandable, but when a member is doing something particularly bad and all that happens is, "They get a talking to." while everything stays up it can come off as nothing being done and thus such behavior being acceptable. This is assuming a talking to even happened. I apologize for the lack of screenshots proving these points. I think I have to say it. Nothing, and I mean with all due respect, NOTHING has been okay at this point. So much complications have happened in no small part due to sharing the video. With the video in your bio, people have cut ties with the server in droves, and people want nothing to do with the contributions to 2kki from those involved in that issue, by deleting fan-made works associated with them, as well as playthroughs. Furthermore, we have people in Hujile's camp who now want to spread lies about me and Ragna about us not doing anything about the matter, MAKING IT LOOK LIKE WE'RE COMPLICIT, to the point that they have vandalized the wiki earlier, and that they are willing to spread the video along with their lies to other places, especially with core devs. And here's the worst part: 2kkicord can be deleted and the admins accounts would be banned should they report us with their false information attached to the video that you shared.
Ayooo! So I've been involved with this nonstop for the past day or so and will do my best to summarize everything as it's kind of a lot Someone in the ynfg community on twitter shared screenshots of one of YNO's head devs, Sam, making transphobic comments in a PokeRogue server which he was kicked out from. These images were then shared on bsky. One user attempted to confront Sam on YNO's discord where he more or less said he did nothing wrong and some asshole decided to show up and make dumbass remarks for no reason per usual. The user left and not long after they were suspended for a day on discord. Screenshots of this were shared on tumblr and bsky. Later that day another person who had been a victim of grooming attempted to confront Sam and more or less got the same thing. Sam deflected, someone else came to make stupid comments, ect. User ended up being bullied off. Xen and Maengo replied to one of the comments on the initial post regarding Sam's comments sharing their own experience with YNO mods. They found out about a grooming case and later that mods knew but did nothing. Said mods had them join a group where they excused it with, "The individual was mentally ill so we couldn't do anything." Time passed and another incident unrelated involved Xen wrongfully banning a member using maengo's occurred [which he acknowledged was wrong and regrets it] and nothing really happened one worked out. Later Xen asked about having more safety measures put up and mods said they're look into it. He asked about a month later for an update and was promptly banned with Maengo being demoted with the incident earlier being cited. After the YNO/CU split the ban was undone and Maengo was reinstated as a mod and they were informed that the actual reason was because they knew about the grooming and mods wanted to silence them. Believe it was after this that Nex started considering pulling UD.
