Female Cardinal in her nest, with a lightly colored brown red body and a bright orange red beak showing through the jumbled mass of spanish oak moss, twigs, and the dark blue and bright green leaves of a bush. It is a very hot day, her beak is opened and she is panting to cool off in the mid day sun, while she spies you with one eye.

A hawk, with dark brown and cream spotted wings, quietly sits on a weathered wooden fence up against a lower chain link fence that has various green and brown vines climbing upward. The background behind the hawk is a small magnolia tree with bushy leaves, against another old wooden fence lining the backyard. Behind that, an avocado colored wall of a building behind us. The hawks’ eyes are dark and spying on me. Good thing I am not a mouse. 🐭

The young bright low rising sun, centered in a small archway made by a row of huge oaks trees, which are in silhouette in the foreground. Anolis- a type of lizard common to Florida, changes colors depending on the environment….sometimes not afraid of people. This little guy is happy to be warming himself in the garden sun. ☀️

My painting of me sleeping in a darkened room in a bed, but being able to see shadows, feeling something keep moving closer to me to then bend over so close to my face that I felt a presence but not a person. What I felt was seen by a family member awakened from her sleep next to me.. I remember seeing a dark hatted shape standing next to me, until I fell asleep. This later confirmed at breakfast the next day with my sleep mate, who had stayed awake to watch it, paralyzed, for another two hours, until it left.

Seems that even thought it is night, there are so many sources of wonderful light; from the full moon above, hovering over lighted apartment windows, hanging lanterns, distant city lights…. All beautiful night lights -
