Picture of my monitor ouput connected to the 32 bit VIA C7M PC. Temperatures are fine, stable at 37 degrees Celsius. However, the CPU is pretty much pinned at 100% usage all the time. It's bad to the point dragging windows is sluggish, UI elements take seconds to respond and the overall experience as a result is terrible. I am not giving away a PC in this condition. By the way, this is running from an old 64GB Kingston SSD which was compatible with the IDE protocol of the motherboard (no AHCI support in here!). I also need to change the original PSU which came with the computer since it has failed. It's currently hooked to an external TFX PSU I bought by mistake thinking it'd fit in the case. However, THE PSU THAT FAILED IS IN A PROPRIETARY FORM FACTOR (at least not its connectors, looking at YOU HP and Lenovo) WHICH THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR! Love that. Anyway, hope you enjoyed that random rant I left here.

A generic car electronic start engine button cover. Many Lamborghinis have this as a quirk. Although this obviously is not an aviation application (although having this kind of protection/security cover is usually found in some aircraft), it's boggling that seemingly no mainstream commercial airliner has this as a security feature. A position sensor, akin to a car door, could warn the pilots through the onboard computers when it's open. Having this as an external layer of security by blocking the actuation of the switch unless opened should be enough to make sure this wouldn't ever happen by accident.

The engine cutoff switches are immediately below the levers, without any sort of security cover to prevent unwanted actuation of these switches, although they can only actuate once pulled and then placed on position.
My current desk setup. I know there is a cable hanging in the left, it's a toslink for my Samsung Music Frame speaker. I still need to cable manage that as well, but that'll involve some drilling. It'll stay there for now!

A black, small form factor PC (HTPC class) case attached to the back of a black monitor. It has a blue LED lit power button and a tiny red hard drive activity LED. In this picture I haven't peeled the protection plastic for the front panel, but I have done now. So don't worry about it!
A picture of my Proxmox server system monitor. CPU, RAM and HD space are fine. However, the "HD" is actually a crap-tier cheap USB flash drive I had lying around I wanted to give a try on to see if it could work out with what I thought wouldn't be too much for it. Unfortunately for the poor thing, it can't handle shit and IO delay is over 90%! I figured something was off by 1. the time from boot to running was quite slow and 2. it's taking an eternity to download the ISO for the VM I wanted to run in it! So I guess I'll have to buy a SATA SSD for it after all. At least those are cheap to buy, I guess. Is this what torture would be for cheap flash storage?
A picture of my current test bench with a Gigabyte GA-C847N-S2 motherboard with an integrated Intel Celeron 847 processor. It has only one PCI slot, to which is connected a D-Link DWL-G510 C1 hardware revision AirPlus G wi-fi card, but also had two old-style ports in the rear I/O: a parallel port and a serial port. The serial port has a serial to ethernet cable inserted, which is connected to my TP-Link router in the background. Also in the background is the system running Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE) in the 32-bit version. Neither the serial adapter or the wi-fi card are working, although the PCI card has a green LED lit up just below its external antenna. If you know anything about how this old stuff works, I'd greatly appreciate your help!

The rear I/O is not visible in this picture, but it has wi-fi, five P2 audio plugs and a TOSLINK connector, Intel gigabit LAN, wi-fi, BIOS flashback and clear CMOS buttons, 11 USB-A ports, and a USB-C port. Like, who doesn't want something like this?
