Dear Twin Cities Community, An incident occurred over the weekend at our Northeast Minneapolis studio. During the incident, a group of students yelled at and used profane language toward CorePower team members regarding confusion over our position on signage related to ICE. We elected to temporarily close that studio until we could ensure the safety of our teachers, studio team, and students. We also want to be clear: No teachers have been terminated in Minneapolis as a result of their views related to this situation. We are a place for mindfulness, belonging, and acceptance for those who wish to practice, and we have zero tolerance for aggressive conduct in our studios. Any action that is counter to our values or risks the safety of our staff or students will not be tolerated. We do not support the violent ICE raids happening in Minneapolis, and we continue to explore ways to support the Twin Cities community without putting our students and teachers in harm’s way. We have

Experts say Amazon’s arrival supercharged this process. The data centers suck up tens of millions of gallons of water from the aquifer each year to cool their computer equipment, which then gets funneled to the Port’s wastewater system. All of the data center water gets mixed into the dirty lagoon wastewater, which only increases how much water the Port must then discard over the fields. As Greg Pettit, who served at the DEQ for 38 years and led the development of Oregon’s Groundwater Quality, explains, “the more water you put on, the faster you’re going to drive the nitrogen through the soil and down into the aquifer.”
