This gutted postbox is outside a Post Office near me and I'm dying for someone to tell me the story behind this (or make one up!).

Oh I think I know this one! The post office staff told me the real reason is that they’re gonna replace it with a New One (probably robotic in some way) but they just turned up and didn’t warn the staff about it. I prefer your thriller take tho. Would read that.
