Sheval was a physically huge man and filled the space opposite. He styled his mane of blond hair, shaved clear of his Colours, in braids down his back. Wearing his Scandinavian heritage like a badge. Sheval’s beard was infamous. A great, bushy monstrosity with a complex patterning of braids and beads that caused a mix of amusement and consternation among those who met him. It was, of course, an affectation. Sheval’s imagining of the Viking warrior that he was convinced lay somewhere inside him. Martal wasn’t sure of the historical accuracy of the look but loved his friend for being true to it.
