Steel mess tins in a museum. The big one looks like a big old saucepan with a handle, there's smaller ones in front (they all fit in the big one) and a leather pouch for it at the back. Given that it went to war, it's in pretty good nick.
This painting is worth more than my house. It's a Cuneo, he focussed on military and industrial painting (big fan of trains), and he painted little mice in his work. This painting is called Sustaining Forward and shows soldiers queuing up to receive food from a field kitchen. The mouse is also waiting his turn nicely. That's the only clue I am giving you. A really nice oldy-style painting of a soldier with blue trousers, a red, cropped jacket, a million buttons and those fun shoulder tassle thingies, topped with a really fancy hat with a massive white feather. Proper class. He also has a sword, spurs, and shiny shoes.
This is actually a banging photo of a big truck lifting a crate with a crane but it is nighttime and it is dark and the whole scene is lit by red, yellow, blue and green lights from the vehicles. It looks festive and ethereal, despite the context of when it was taken.

Horses. Lots of lovely horses. They are very shiny, they have been well groomed. They are in the stable and the black and white photo is labeled 'stable' but in cursive so if it wasn't for the horses you might find it hard to read the letters.
A blacki and white photo of military chefs cooking on an improvised oven outside. The photo is dated 1911. The head chef is stood in a hole at the entrance of the oven. I am probably not describing this very well. There are some brilliant moustaches on show.
These are not festive lights at all! What we are looking at is a vehicle depot bathed in the green light of night vision technology as a convoy prepares to go out on ops. We are going to struggle a bit finding festive content in our archive but we persevere.
Father Christmas, the real one, sat on top of a white building holding a big sack of presents. He's got a beard and everything. The building has a sign that reads 'United Kingdom Logistic Battalion' and has the badges of the RLC, REME and the Union Jack.
An absolutely terrible AI generated image (I am so sorry) of a modern ATO defusing a *checks notes* wooden barrel tied up with rope. Lol. The chap (because of course AI assumes a soldier would be male...) is in a proper oldey-worlde looking undercroft with pillars, candles on sconces and a flagstone floor.
Two soldiers in civvies working in a very 1990s style British Forces Post Office. This was absolutely essential work to keep soliders connected to their families. The RLC take on this role today. Of particular interest is the British Forces version of the Post Office sign which is on display in the background.
At the front of the museum is a big glass building which is the first thing visitors see on arrival. Our Collections Crew have put a concrete lion in there, temporarily, whilst they arrange his next move. This is fine. However, they have positioned the fella so that his bumhole (I'm sorry, there's no delicate way of phrasing that) is facing visitors. The first thing you see on visiting our museum, is a lion's bumhole. The photo is of said bumhole, proudly on display.
A museum display case with a model of Dougal the dog from the Magic Roundabout in it. For anyone who hasn't seen the fever dream that was the Magic Roundabout, Dougal is turbo cute and is basically a tube, with long, flowing, strawberry blonde hair, a big black nose and a red nose.

The picture really has very little to do with the post but if you don't have a picture, no one will look. It shows our black Rolls Royce (Monty's Rolls from D-Day) on the grass outside the museum. Our WW2 DUKW is in a glass building in the background. We're put the Heritage Open Days bunting and branding on it. Sky is blue, grass is green, it's a fine photo.
Just a load of ties. I have no idea why we have so many ties. They all have a meaning. On the left are RLC ones (RLC ties, RLC association ties, RLC officers club ties...) and then on the right are Royal Corps of Transport ties and out of shot are RASC, RAOC, RPC and ACC ties... honestly we have an actual tie guide book so we all know what we are looking at and what we are selling. It is awesome.

A First World War steam powered tractor with caterpillar tracks that is in an unforunate predicament, having crashed into a ditch. This thing can roll over barges, but has buried itself nose deep. Several Army chaps are stood on or near it in poses suggesting that they are all mentally scratching their heads about how to a) explain and b) fix this one. It is a mess...much like our craft area. lol.

An army landrover in some very heavy terrain, travelling uphill and looking a bit like it is having a hard time and/or is completely stuck. It has L plates and we know exactly how the driver feels.

An absolutely banging black and white photo of a Bedford truck traversing a rutted...heavily rutted...uphill path. Honestly this road is trash, hugh rough channels either side. The truck looks strong though, big wheels, canvas cover over the back and driver just visible through the window.
A really cracking, well made set of metal mess tins. There is a larger one at the back which is a cooking pan with handle, and then four smaller tins and a tea diffuser at the front. A leather bag to store them all is back right, and the small tins look to be designed to fit in the largest tin for easy storage and transport. They are silver in colour and look to be made of steel though I haven't been into the case to poke them so I am just guessing on material. If you picture them like steel, you are on the right track.

Alright alright, I had AI write it and I expected it to be awful and it was terrifyingly good. If you are actually reading this for the alt text, the picture is an overhead view of the museum gallery, taken from the balcony. The museum is bright and modern, and from here you can see a gun, display cases, mannequins and the ducts and pipes connected to the ceiling.
This is a cracking black and white photo of a horse pulling a horse ambulance which has ANOTHER HORSE in it. A horse ambulance is a specially adapted wooden wagon with one large wheel each side. It was used to take injured horses off of the battlefield in WW1. There is a seat for a human driver over the wheel closest to the camera, and there is a little model geezer in WW1 uniform sat on it holding the reigns. Don't know why he is bothering because the lead horse - the uninjured one - looks pretty self-assured and I reckon he knows what he is about. Pleased to report that the model horses are excellent actors and that the horse in the ambulance is totally fine and just pretending to be injured for display purposes. Good horsey.
An image of a really ordinary chair that definitely doesn't give off spooky vibes at all. It is high backed, brown and carved from wood. It has fancy legs, armrests and a spindly back. It is understated ostentation if that makes any sense. It is in a museum surrounded by display boards. The boards are on easels and you can't see it in the photo but they are all about the end of WW2.
A photo of a really banging cart in a museum. The cart is wooden with one big old wheel on each side and really long...okay I can't remember the name but those stick bits that go out the front and then a horse stands between them and one of the long stick bits goes either side of the horse - really long ones of them. If anyone knows the name, please help a girl out. They are long because a Marlborough cart was pulled by two horses and one went behind the other which made the cart a lot more manoueverable on tight roads. In the background are some creepy mannequins (no self-respecting museum is without them) and a sign saying 'Our story starts here' which makes the whole thing look super cool.
Genuinely the best photo of this car I have ever taken. It's a black 1936 Rolls-Royce Wraith. She's is parked on grass with blue sky above her. Annoyingly, our lovely volunteers had just cleaned her so if you look really carefully you can see me and James reflected in her wing. If I had known, I might have brushed my hair.
This is a great photo with real 1990s vibes - from the grey sky to the buildings in the background. Three soldiers in right fancy uniforms are watching a traditional Chinese lion dance. The lion is FABULOUS - white with sequins and green eyes and red details.
A really banging photo of some cows. It is black and white (but then so are the cows) and there are five uniformed soldiers looking after the mookers. There is a sign that reads 'Army Dairy Farm' and some of the geezers are holding buckets. There are three cows in the picture and everyone looks alarmingly serious. There are no leaves on the trees and there is snow on a rooftop behind the main bloke.
