I wonder what the thinking is about the proliferation of windchimes? my home is surrounded by them from every direction, and i find it unfair that i cannot enjoy the beauty of silence in nature/in my garden because it's compromised by the incessant (unless it's a perfectly still day) loud and cacophonous objects. The fact is, unless a windchime is tuned, if it's a cheapo version, it's actually more disturbing to the nervous system. Now that it's spring, i'd like to open my windows but i am literally jumping out of my skin from the noise, especially if it's really windy. AND i can hear it from INSIDE my house with windows closed so i really feel trappd. I approached one neighbor asking for help, even hanging at the back of her house would help, and i was infuriated at the arrogance of her response - something like -oh they were a gift and have sentimental value so... no - essentially F&%@* you very much. i'm thinking of offering an individual cash reward for their removal - or going thru the city to see about some kind of regulation. thoughts?
