A photo of Irish soda bread taken with a vintage Japanese lens I just picked up. The lens has kind of a gritty, contrast-heavy look, so the bread looks more like a rock face than something you’d want to eat. It was really good, though!

The first step is heating the oil with peppercorns, star anise, and cinnamon sticks.

After last night’s snowfall a little snow sticks to cars and unwalked portions of the street. Most of the sleepy morning is grey and deserted, but a few people are out.
