Also, isn't the sun male and the moon female in French? (So I heard once) That's the opposite of the German gender usage. Der Mond (maskulinum) Die Sonne (femininum)

Word genders are sometimes funny and not always intuitive! For example, the Italian word “seni” for breasts is masculine. There are slang terms that are feminine.
