Yeah I think so too. Alt text shouldnt really be used for anything thats not helping. How is your opinion on using it for humoristic purposes tho (while obviously still giving the needed information?) For example: "A Weber Grill, seemingly innocently standing in a white void but holding a much darker secret in its alt text (this image btw)"?
