lots of glaring examples of this, and the same for the other way around, actually. lots of people have forgone waiting to see if stuff like that actually has truth to it, or if there's more than meets the eye, and it's frustrating as fuck. personally, I think it all comes from fatigue. they're tired of all the bullshit that already goes on, so when something new pops up, the first instinct is "MAKE THIS THING STOP HAPPENING ASAP, IGNORE THE CONSEQUENCES".

then again... they're not using what the AI provides itself in the game. they're just using it as a base for concepts, then using that as inspiration for the actual concept art. they're not "promoting" the use of it; if anything, I doubt anyone would've found out had nothing been said about it. it's really unsettling how militant people are being about this, I'm ngl.
