I am doing my first ever CX race on Sunday as an overweight 40 year old on a course with a week of British rain on it… any… advice?

for those following along, i finished 11/25 in cat 4, started strong with the lead group but blew up pretty quickly at that pace and slid back to the 2nd group and then lost that and rode solo. 290 NP first lap then like 240-230 NP the rest of the laps. need to race into better shape imo.
