Gregg was well aware that pretty women with nice mouths did not date men several years-decades-their senior who were in the lower Registry Tiers. His next Registration securement threshold, in addition to qualifying him to wear the shiny metal badge on his chest, included a substantial credit bonus on top of whatever autie bonuses he scored, enough that he could move from the small place he shared with his brother and get his own place. Being a homeowner would qualify him for a higher Registry Tier and afford him the luxury of having a place to which he could invite a young woman over for an evening's privacy. Chronicles of the Coherence, Volume I Awakening While life on the streets can be lonely and often dangerous, ever since awakening without memories but with voices in his head prone to arguing and name calling, a young boy living beneath Seattle, who goes by Kid, hasn't ever really been alone. One day, the touch of an ominous, gloom-enshrouded hand of a criminal overlord sparks Kid's rapid development of new abilities. He soon gets a cryptic message that this gloomsome hand might be the key to both recovering his past and staving off the end of the world. Kid must use his newfound powers to avoid the Citizenship, Housing & Logistics Authority--the nationalized police, unaffectionately known as the Chill--and infiltrate the criminal organization of the man with a gloomsome hand to find his missing past and discover what it's like to not be interminably alone. President Trump and his administration have moved to illegally cut the federal workforce in an attempt to come up with a budget and tax increases on middle class Amcricans. DOGE's indiscriminate federal firings and funding freezes and recissions are impacting workers who work in Washington state, or who work on projects and programs vital to the people in the state. These federal workforce cuts are undermining our ability to conduct cutting-edge research, ensure public health, and maintain a strong agricultural economy. To take a few examples of particular significance for Washington state, agencies such as National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Weather Service, the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Rescarch Service have all been targeted for funding reductions. These agencies are critical to our nation's economic strength and security, Gutting them would be a grave mistake. [NOAA NIH NSF USDA problem details] These are just a few examples. DOGE's actions thus far at other agencies have caused widespread chaos, hampered the ability of agencies to do their work, and provided potentially illegal data access to individuals with conflicts of interest. There are many ideas that the Administration and Congress could work on together, in a bipartisan way, to increase govemment efficiency, produce billions of dollars in savings, produce better care for our constituents, and move our country forward. But the DOGE push to indiscriminately slash federal workers from the payroll, while compromising the vital ongoing work at federal agencies, is the wrong approach.
