SadrAstro Observatory @sadrastro.com · Dec 8 HOO Color (RGB) of Abell 85 Supernova and surrounding nebulosity. This area is rich in Hydrogen (Red) & Oxygen 3 (Blue). With 14 hours of data on the OIII, we've been able to surface a neighboring OIII "shell" as well as an extended shell around the central object (very diffuse) #astrophotography 🔭

The visible red & blue nebulosities are termed "emission nebulae," lit by neighboring stars that excite Ha and Oiii molecules to emit light. The dark clouds interspersed in the area represent non-emission nebulae. As darkness itself cannot be captured in images, the focus lies in creating contrast.
