No the contrast still holds because China is known for being kind of a libertarian wasteland without government surveillance or censorship infrastructure
Everyone wants to argue geopolitics but tablets like this have been available in the US for years.
the gap used to be processing speed. now it's the fold, the camera array, the form factor. at some point 'national security concern' and 'we can't match it' started meaning the same thing.
