This I largely agree with but I also think centrists are going to take the wrong lesson away here, as groups like Third Way already demonstrably are doing. The key point for me is that, yes, the party has largely abandoned local- and state-level organizing, and that's a problem.

This is still only page 10 out of 192, so who knows where we're going with this. But it seems pretty clear to me that the centrist wing of the party is much too reliant on consulting firms to tell them what to do, rather than doing the actual work to organize and engage with voters directly.
