This sounds like they want to slim Xbox down and make it easier to sell... Take two of the successful products out of their hands into Microsoft's so now Xbox has less value to it.
The Minecraft acquisition is an incredible and rare example of a corporation growing a small company organically without killing its appeal. MS figured out how to leave the core game intact, tastefully tack on MTX, and sell a metric ton of merch. If they "Roblox" the game, that streak ends.
