Dinah Soar is a pterosaur-like humanoid superheroine from Marvel Comics, known as a founding member of the Great Lakes Avengers (GLA).  She is a mysterious figure with unknown origins, unable to speak English but communicating through chirps that only her teammate and love interest, Mr. Immortal, can understand.  Her powers include incredible flight and a hypersonic voice, but her story tragically ends when she is killed by the villain Maelstrom while trying to save Mr. Immortal.

Death in Brunswick (1990) is an Australian black comedy film about a down-on-his-luck man, Carl Fitzgerald (Sam Neill), who gets a job as a cook at a seedy nightclub in Melbourne's multicultural suburb of Brunswick, where he falls for a Greek barmaid, Sophie (Zoe Carides). After accidentally killing a coworker, he enlists his best friend, Dave (John Clarke), a gravedigger, to help dispose of the body, leading to a notorious scene where they bury it in a grave that's already occupied. The film is known for its dark humor, quirky tone, and its depiction of working-class life in Melbourne, becoming a cult classic.  Key aspects Genre: Dark comedy, crime, thriller.  Director/Writer: John Ruane and Boyd Oxlade.  Stars: Sam Neill, Zoe Carides, and John Clarke.  Plot: Carl's life improves after meeting Sophie, but an accidental death forces him and Dave to cover it up, entangling them in local criminal tensions.  Themes: Working-class life, multiculturalism in Melbourne, and the "lovable loser" archetype.  Notable scene: The infamous graveyard scene where Dave stomps on a corpse to make room in a grave.  Legacy: Considered a classic of Australian cinema, praised for its humor, performances, and unique setting.
