It takes some effort to actually focus on his visitor's face, not to mention keeping from vomiting all over himself. Still, Elinor manages it with the reasonable tradeoff of his vision narrowing to just the area in front of him. All things considered, it's not the worst sacrifice to make; it might even help his nausea. 'I feel like I should know this man.' It isn't as if he's completely unremarkable. Between his white hair, the rough scrap of black fabric he's used as an eyepatch, and his ill-suited style of dress, he cuts a striking figure. Handsome, if he felt like it. And yet none of it rings any bell in Elinor's mind, just as unfamiliar as his voice. Something in him feels vaguely guilty about his inability to recognize his visitor, but it's already hard enough for him to try and follow any one line of thought for the guilt to stick, the feeling slipping out of his grasp like water. His head hurts. He still doesn't know how he hasn't vomited yet.
