Melissa: Hello everyone, I am Neil’s older sister, and on behalf of my other brother Warren and our father Stuart, we wanted to reach out Neil’s friends to let you know that Neil passed away on Sunday, July 19th. Neil was a unique person who had a way of making people smile, laugh and feel joy. He loved cooking, animals, music and people. Neil was a free spirit who saw opportunity everywhere and ran with every idea he had. Despite the fun and joy he brought to others, he also had his own struggles. We hope he has now found peace and is with our mother, Shirley, again. We know many of you shared memories and experiences with him over the years in all the many different pockets of his world. We know he enjoyed and loved all the memories he experienced with each of you throughout his life as well. When we have more information about a service to honour Neil's life, we will let you know. Please share this info with anyone who may not be on here but was important to Neil. Thank you all for keeping Neil, his daughter Theia and our family in your thoughts.

Just a short distance away, Randy Finnie and his family had only seconds to react after spotting the tornado approaching. “I saw the tornado go across that shed and peel it,” Finnie said. “Then I yelled to get inside.” Finnie, his wife and their two children, ages 13 and 14, rushed from the garage into their basement cold cellar as the storm intensified. The family sheltered underground for only a few minutes. “It was like three minutes,” he said. When they emerged, the landscape had changed completely. “We came back upstairs and all our windows were intact, everything was good. Then we looked outside and, yeah, everything was gone.” The tornado narrowly missed the family’s home. “It just missed the house … about 20 feet.” Trees were snapped or uprooted across the property, and damage was widespread. Finnie said help arrived almost immediately.

A week later they arrive carrying one single teacup. They then proceed tell you you have to be 'pragmatic about the situation' and tell you that you should thank them for having at least bought a teacup. That's what's happened here. As the Canadian Climate Institute confirms there is no chance of reaching Net-Zero by 2050 as a result of these policy changes: "The MOU agreement’s unreasonable compromises on industrial carbon markets and clean electricity regulations, and the implications for weakening policies in other provinces, will undermine emissions reductions and Canada’s low-carbon competitiveness...."
