Also thinking of making this as a printable sheet for GM's to write the current state of allegiances. I am a visual person so things like this help a lot!

This indeed is very cool. I can see it being useful for people as well. Plus you can throw in pictures instead of names (to keep a name secret) or in addition to. Are the Blood Pirates at war with the Iron Engineers because they are rich in Iron?
Now that's a good and helpful visual aid. For an unfolding story I guess you could also obscure some names and reveal them later on to the players as the learn more about the world. If that floats ones boat.
