A wonderful glimpse into a moment when the future was still being invented. Every name on the bill tells a story, and together they capture a remarkable chapter in live music history. 1978 was a blast!

Used to go to punk gigs there. Would normally get harassed by skinheads outside, there would be a fight on the dance floor (sprung) - and then would get chased through the local estate by casuals on the way home - but I wouldn't change it for a moment!

The year I started going to gigs. Also the year I made an arse of my O Grades. 😆

I started work on Mon 20 Feb 1978 - the whole country was covered in snow and I had to walk to my new office in my wellies, with work shoes in a school dap-bag!

I only recently learned about The Rich Kids, must have been bonkers to see live.

A year before I started to attend gigs, many of those I'd would have loved to have seen.
