Imagine hearing both Ives piano sonatas performed live in the Northwest in the same season! Thanks to @skinnyv.bsky.social for playing the Concord Sonata at @meanycenter.bsky.social in October, then bringing Ives expert Gil Kalish to UW this week to play the underheralded First Sonata. #IvesAt150

I had the privilege of attending the performance by Gil Kalish yesterday and thought Sonata No. 1 was wonderful. And I learned a lot about the history of Ives and Janacek. Thanks to all who made this possible!
