But most interesting to me was this brief history of how wearable closed-loop insulin systems (i.e. both monitoring blood glucose and releasing insulin accordingly) were developed by biohackers before they were developed commercially.

User innovation is under appreciated. But it’s also important, esp with drugs and devices, to pressure test them before making widely available. Auto Insulin pumps are currently a big source of litigation
I do like some Asterisk mag pieces, in case the RCT one made it seem like that wasn't the case. This was quite thought provoking
Ah, the Dead In Bed thing (it's a big thing). Something I noticed watching the Turning Red animation film—in their effort to be inclusive with diverse background characters, they have a girl with an obvious CGM patch on her upper arm. The film takes place in 2002.
