There have been several credible reports of ICE abducting and harassing our neighbors in Minneapolis over the last several days. We will not be silent as families are harassed in their homes, workplaces, and streets. This is an attack on our community and our values. Somali Minnesotans are the backbone of this state’s fabric. Attempts to criminalize, dehumanize, or terrorize them are unacceptable — and we stand firmly against it. If you’re at risk, know your rights and keep documentation with you. If you witness ICE activity, act as a peaceful legal observer and document what you see. Our message is simple: we do not, and will not turn our backs on our neighbors.
