Steve Downey @sdowney.org · Jun 3 Help! I urgently need three reasons why I do not need this fountain pen. Lamy Al-Star Disco HP Colab is one strong one. I'm never buying HP anything, but I can see how the horribleness of JKR slips under corporate radar. "You don't need a new pen" is too weak to be one.

You probably came to the wrong place to be talked out of getting a new fountain pen!
The HP collab for me would be a dealbreaker in ever buying anything from that manufacturer again, especially during Pride month. By now it's impossible NOT to know about JKR so I don't give corporate any grace on this. They're aware, they just don't give a shit. But I'm also a humorless bitch, so 🤷🏼
"you like #8 nibs more, or that #9 that is unmanageably big" helps, with this pen. But I have been otherwise happy with Lamy nibs. [After decades of the tiniest point pens and microscopic Humanist Miniscule print or Architect block caps]
You could instead save to buy a better pen, like a Pilot Custom Urushi…
