Probably shared this before but it's because I absolutely adore this stretch of train track from Leigh-on-Sea to Chalkwell. Whether the tide is in or out it's always stunning to me just how close the train is to the water. One of my favourite bits of rail in the country.

The line going to Ulverston is interesting because it crosses Morcambe bay in a couple of places, and that feels like the train is just dumped in the sea. It's actually a little scary.

The line from Waterbeach to Ely is pretty stunning in that respect. It's on top of the dykes so when the water is high you can't even see land under the train. There's also a watersports lake and a solar farm where they graze sheep between the panels, there's not a bad view in the trip.
