I remember camping in the BWCA and sitting on a rock on the shore one evening watching a wide curtain of mating mayflies just 10 feet out rising upward of 30 feet and falling for over 40 minutes. And all the bluegill, bass, etc. enjoying the resulting floating feast. What a show!
