Square Enix seems to have mastered the art of the modern demo. Check out Marty's latest Patreon column on the opening few hours of Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, and why this is the perfect way to deliver a demo for a big beefy JRPG. www.patreon.com/posts/column...

Oh, 100% agreed. I went from "I might pick this up" to "this game needs to release RIGHT NOW" in the 2.9 hours I spent in the demo.

It has Denuvo, so I won't be looking at it on PC.

Agree with Marty's assessment wholeheartedly. The Metaphor demo hooked me the same way. I'm someone that if I put a number of hours into something, I want it to matter. These "start the game early" demos have been great. I hope more companies follow suit.

Interesting. I thought it was a mistake making the demo so early in the game.

I don't play demos that often, but I played this one. It'd good, and did everything it needed to do. I'm impressed at how clean and capable it plays on the PS5. The game looks gorgeous and flows very smoothly. Maaaaan, I want DQ8 remake now.

It’s this very reason why I eventually played dragon quest 11. I wasn’t sold on it until I tried the demo and the promise of being able to carry over my save made the full purchase more palatable.
