Puts Ukitate, Unohana, Yamamoto, Sasakibe, Tosen, Gin and Kaien back on the board. Alongside Yamamoto's original, lawless Gotei 13 - and Ginrei, come to think of it. Then there's all those innumerable dead Arrancar - most interesting ones in storytelling terms being Ulquiorra, Aaroniero Arruruerie, and Grand Fisher. The thing that most excites me about the Hell Arc is the potential to explore the deep history of Soul Society, with one of the most buried status mechanics - the Five Noble Houses. At the time of Turn Back the Pendulum, it appeared as though Urahara, Yoruichi and Tessai were engineering their own conspiracy. They had the 2nd and 12th Divisions, the Kido Corp, and the Shihoin Clan - with hints that they had strong influence with the Kuchiki Clan, and plenty of the manga plot rests on their influence with the Shiba Clan. We still don't know why Urahara made the Hogyoku, but we know the timing was identical to Aizen's, and their timing aligned to Yhwach's, and that Ichigo was being groomed by all three. I will lay money that there will be several more rug-pulls - the story that we think was happening wasn't fully the one that was actually happening. Things like... when Yhwach visited Aizen in prison, he says later that he felt the effects of Kyoka Suigetsu. In order for that to happen, he had to have witnessed its Shikai release - which would make Aizen over 1,000 years old. Or what about that conspicuous question that Renji wanted to ask Urahara? It was almost certainly about Rukia, right? And probably about hiding the Hogyoku, and if so whether Urahara and Yoruichi had anything to do with getting her assigned to Karakura. Ukitate already made his presence felt, from within Hell, in the Hell One-Shot - many of the buried hints seem stacked up to make Rukia pretty central to the Hell Arc.

While these technologies promise sophisticated automation and efficiency, they rely on data collection and model training practices that abuse privacy rights, enable discrimination, and threaten freedom of expression and thought. Amnesty International finds that standalone generative AI systems, based on unlawful web scraping, depend on mass invasions of privacy by design, and are fundamentally incompatible with IHRL. As such, Amnesty International is calling for a prohibition of such systems.
BLUF: I'm watching from a distance. If I'm going to go through the admin ballache of replatforming my stuff yet again, it has to be worth it. So far it feels very white western indie rock and electronica-coded, from the name to the governance model, to the initial scenes gravitating towards it. The governance model also feels like an old-fashioned leftie co-op, which actively makes me doubt their technical aspirations when you could have baked decentralisation into the architecture by going fully federated. It's still an all eggs in one basket model. Right now I'm not convinced that an NME-coded cross-section owned by a student politics styled co-op solves enough of the fundamental problems of streaming to bother with, so I'm happy to skip any early-adopter numbers bump that will be artificial anyway because my shit is truly unlistenable.
